Work with PDFs locally
Work with everyday PDF documents in one browser workspace. Choose an operation, select your files, adjust its settings, and download the result. The tools process document bytes on your device. The first use of an operation downloads its software engine from public content delivery services; OCR also downloads a language model. These downloads require an internet connection, but this page does not send your documents or passwords to a processing server.
Merge combines documents in the order shown in the file list. Move a file up or down before starting to change that order. Split extracts a selected range into one PDF or creates a ZIP containing separate pages. Enter ranges such as 1-3,5, or leave the range empty to select all pages. These operations are intended for ordinary documents; interactive forms, signatures, bookmarks, and document-level features may not survive reconstruction.
Compress creates an image-based PDF by rendering each page and embedding a lower-quality JPEG. This can reduce the size of scanned documents, but it may enlarge PDFs that already contain compact text or vector artwork. It removes searchable text, interactive fields, links, and vector detail. Confirm this tradeoff before starting, and keep your original. The result message compares the output size with the input size.
Convert supports JPG or PNG images to PDF, PDF pages to a ZIP of PNG images, and existing PDF text to a text file. It does not convert Word or Excel documents. Edit provides a page preview for placing text, images and drawn signatures. Browse pages, click to place overlays, undo placements, or rotate a selected page. It does not rewrite existing paragraphs, remove underlying text, or provide secure redaction. Text coordinates use PDF points measured from the lower-left corner.
OCR recognizes scanned page images and exports plain text. Choose the correct language and review names, numbers, punctuation, and reading order. OCR does not create a searchable PDF in this version. Password Protect applies AES-256 encryption with an opening password. Store that password safely; the site cannot recover it. Password-protected inputs are not supported in this initial release.
Clear removes selected files and results from the page. Cancel stops current processing. Download and inspect your result before closing the tab, especially when a document contains forms or unusual fonts.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Files and passwords are processed locally. Public servers provide software downloads.
Can I edit existing text or redact content?
This version adds text, image and drawn-signature overlays and rotates pages. It does not rewrite existing text or securely redact content.
What does OCR produce?
OCR produces plain text, not a searchable PDF.
Will compression preserve text search?
No. Compression creates image-only pages and removes text search, forms and links.
