How to use Image Splitter & Social Crop
The image splitter turns a photograph into a three-by-three grid. Select a JPG, PNG or WebP file, then review the centered square crop in the preview. The cyan lines show exactly where the nine tiles will be cut. Download one ZIP archive containing numbered PNG images. Tile 1 is the top-left corner, and tile 9 is the bottom-right corner. Check your social platform’s current profile layout and posting order before publishing. A square grid does not guarantee that every platform will display the same arrangement. You may need to publish in reverse order.
For a wider composition, choose the 3:1 header preset or the 16:9 cover preset. These produce one PNG instead of a ZIP. The preset describes an aspect ratio, not a guarantee about a platform’s safe area or display size. Keep important words and faces away from the edges. The crop is centered in this version; use an already composed source photo if your subject is near an edge.
Grid tiles are exported at up to 1080 pixels per side, limited by the source crop. Header and cover exports are up to 1080 pixels wide. The converter avoids deliberately enlarging small source images. PNG keeps the output lossless, but photographic PNG files can be larger than compressed JPEG files. Use the image resizer if you need a smaller download.
Your selected image is processed in the browser. The ZIP library downloads on first use; the photograph is not uploaded to a processing service. Select files up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. Very large images can use significant memory, so close other tabs if your device struggles. Keep your original photo, inspect every tile, and download your files before leaving the page.
