YouTube to MP4

Convert permitted public YouTube media or a local file to MP4. Up to 100 MiB and 15 minutes.

01
Start with a YouTube link

Paste a link, then find an available stream.

02
Or choose a file from your device

Local files stay in your browser and take priority over a link.

MP4, WebM, M4A, MP3, WAV, OGG, MOV or AAC · up to 100 MiB

Higher quality usually creates larger files. Original dimensions are retained; missing source detail cannot be restored.

How to use the youtube to mp4

Create an MP4 video from media you are permitted to download and convert. Resolve a single public YouTube video and choose an available video stream, or select a local media file directly. Output uses H.264 video and AAC audio for broad playback compatibility. Choose Standard, High, or Very high quality. Higher quality generally creates larger files; output keeps the source dimensions rounded to even pixels.

Conversion runs in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm. The conversion engine is loaded when needed and is much larger than this page’s interface. Local files stay on your device. For YouTube input, a separate extraction worker resolves supported public streams and relays the selected media through the server; that transfer still uses server bandwidth. The worker does not store downloaded media files.

Input is limited to 100 MiB. Public videos must be non-live and no longer than fifteen minutes; local conversion keeps only the first fifteen minutes. Each conversion has a two-minute processing limit. Smaller files are more practical on phones or devices with limited memory. Choose a shorter source if the browser runs out of resources or the job cannot finish within the limit.

Frequently asked questions

Why might a YouTube URL fail?

YouTube can restrict automated access or change its delivery formats. Private, account-required, age-restricted, region-restricted, live, and unsupported streams are not bypassed by this tool. If extraction is unavailable, convert a local file that you already have permission to use.

Does conversion improve the original quality?

No. Transcoding cannot recover detail missing from the source and can introduce additional loss. Output format and bitrate affect compatibility and size, but a larger file does not necessarily contain better audio or video.

Can I convert without uploading a file?

Yes. Select a local file and convert it in the browser. The engine loads from this website, but the selected file is not uploaded. Download the result before closing the page, because conversion output is not stored as an account library.
