Receiving access is assigned separately
Sending a fax with RichFax does not buy or create a personal receiving number. Receiving currently works for numbers that have been explicitly linked to a verified email address. Public self-service number purchases, temporary receiving passes and customer number-porting flows are not yet offered.
If your workspace says No receiving number is linked to your verified email, contact [email protected] to discuss access. Do not share an unassigned or public test number as your personal fax address. No public receiving price is advertised on this page.
View and download a received fax
Sign in and verify your email
Use the account associated with the receiving-number assignment. A different account or an unverified email cannot access its documents.
Open My workspace → Inbox
Your linked number appears above the received-fax list. Ask the sender to use that exact assigned number. Select Refresh to check for new arrivals.
Check the received record
The Inbox shows the sender, destination, page count, arrival time and whether the fax completed. A fax still receiving is not yet ready to download.
View or download the PDF
Choose View PDF to open it or Download PDF to save a copy. Check every page before relying on the document. Save important files while they are available; the provider’s retention policy still applies.
The current Inbox shows up to 100 recent faxes. Search, tags and public self-service provisioning are not currently part of this release. Contact support about older records rather than assuming they remain available indefinitely.
What the notification email looks like
RichFax receiving notifications are sent as RichFax <[email protected]> to the assigned email address. They include the sender number, page count, fax ID and the received PDF attachment. They also point you back to the RichFax Inbox.
The configured Sinch Fax-to-Email fallback may produce a separate provider notification. Receiving two notices does not mean two faxes arrived; compare the fax ID and received record. Outgoing-order emails contain a transmission report rather than your original fax document.
If the fax email is missing
- Check the RichFax Inbox first. Email notification arrival and fax reception are separate.
- Look in Junk, Spam and any local spam-filter folders, including folders created by Spam Reader.
- Confirm the mail application is connected to the receiving email account, not a different mailbox or archived PST.
- Check whether your mail provider blocks PDF attachments or has storage limits.
- If appropriate for your mailbox, add [email protected] to its approved senders.
An SMTP acceptance record alone does not prove that a message appeared in your mail application. If the PDF is visible in RichFax but the email is absent, download it from the Inbox and contact support with the fax ID.
If nothing appears in the Inbox
Recheck the assigned destination, refresh and ask the sender for their transmission result. Their successful send report is useful evidence but is not a substitute for a matching incoming record and readable PDF. Automated test services may not return a fax; do not treat a missing test reply as proof of a broken receiving service.
Keep your received documents private
PDF access is authenticated and checked against your account’s receiving-number assignment. Downloaded files and email attachments become additional copies outside the RichFax Inbox. Follow your own document-handling rules, especially on shared devices. See the email and storage explanation for current limitations.
